1. Favorite Book Ship - Finnick/Annie (The Hunger Games). Because he loved her enough to end an empire, and she loved him enough to keep his heart safe when no one else gave a damn about his well-being at all. Because they’re both survivors, and it’s due to each other. Because they help each other heal. Because they have a baby. Because a few words from Finnick can call Annie back into the world.
Because he never lets go of her hand.

2. Favorite TV Ship - Naomi/Emily (Skins). Be brave. Even though she’s the one person with the power to ruin your life.

3. Favorite Movie Ship - Jack/Rose (Titanic). Because there will never, ever be anyone as dreamy as Jack Dawson. And because let’s be real, our entire generation started puberty when Rose’s hand hit the window. And because he saved her in every way a person can be saved… and she doesn’t even have a picture of him.

4. Favorite Real Life Ship - Robert Pattinson/Kristen Stewart. Because they are beautiful and in love.

5. Favorite Sunken Ship - Percy/Rachel (Percy Jackson). Like I said: I just don’t buy Percy/Annabeth. Annabeth did not like him, not as a boy, barely as a friend, until we were suddenly supposed to believe that she had jealousy issues over Rachel. Rachel totally liked him, and of the two presented canonical options, I prefer Rachel. (Woe. )

6. Favorite Bromantic Ship - Jace/Simon (The Mortal Instruments). Because they just don’t want to wear each other’s pants.

7. Favorite Sister/Girl Power Ship - Veronica/Mac (Veronica Mars). I respect both Mac and Veronica more than most showrunners manage to make me respect their female leads/female friendships (the friendships in particular) and I give huge props to Rob Thomas for that. Veronica and Mac are a wonderful example, in my opinion, of proving that girls can kick ass, that what society calls “victims” are really survivors, and that once you’ve survived, it’s more than possible to thrive, too.

8. Favorite Friend!Ship - Cory/Shawn (Boy Meets World). Because they straightened Cory’s hair and learned to walk in heels and did not want to talk about how things would change after Cory and Topanga got married.

9. Favorite Just-For-The-Sex Ship - Percy/Nico/Annabeth (Percy Jackson). Okay. So Percy/Annabeth is the only canon endgame pairing that I have ever gone, “…Really?” I mean, I can see that RR intended it the whole time. He just built it REALLY POORLY. So um, I buy it if Nico is there to balance out Percy and Annabeth’s total dysfunction (albeit with his own brand of dysfunction)?

11. Favorite Crossover Ship - Nico Di Angelo (Percy Jackson)/Anubis (The Kane Chronicles). SOMEONE PLEASE WRITE THIS. I don’t know why Rick Riordan is so sure that gods of the underworld are so deliciously smoldering, but THANK YOU, SIR. I TIP MY HAT TO YOU.

12. Favorite Unpopular Ship - Harry/Ginny (Harry Potter). It’s canon, Ginny’s a bamf, and JKR is never wrong. Ginny was the first witch his own age that Harry ever saw. If that isn’t foreshadowing…

13. Favorite Popular Ship - Katniss/Peeta (The Hunger Games). I prefer Katniss/Peeta to Katniss/Gale because it’s not a love triangle. It’s an allegory for the approaches to war. Gale represents fighting for revenge and violent ideals; Peeta represents fighting for the good of others and, eventually, peace. I understand and respect Katniss/Gale shippers, but I’ll always take the boy with the bread.
